About Me
My name is Max Brooke, and this is the shameless self-promotion part of the website. Like probably half of the people in the tabletop games industry, I’m a game designer, among an eclectic assortment of other things (project manager, writer, editor, etc). I’ve worked at two game companies for a total of over nine years. These days, I’m freelance - if you’re interested in collaborating, take a look at my resume or scroll down for the fun, informal version!
My Past Credits
Roleplaying Games
I’ve developed and produced numerous game supplements for Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay and Star Wars Roleplay. I was lead mechanics designer for Legend of the Five Rings Fifth Edition. I’ve also created a number of free roleplaying games, which can be found in Games for Download.
Miniatures Games
I worked as a designer on X-Wing: The Miniatures Game for five years, and was part of the team that undertook the full-game reboot for X-Wing 2nd Edition. After the reboot, I was the senior developer on the line for two years, setting vision and maintaining competitive balance.
Marketing
I have a background in online marketing from Backbone Media, and experience with games industry marking from my time at University Games. At Fantasy Flight Games, I was closely involved in marketing many products I designed. I also managed open betas, community outreach efforts, and living rules for these products.
